With the May 27, 2025 DSCSA enforcement deadline fast approaching, manufacturers must act now to avoid serious disruptions. Wholesalers and dispensers are enforcing Enhanced Drug Distribution Security (EDDS) requirements under DSCSA. Non-compliance could result in shipment delays, rejections, quarantines, and significant revenue loss.
To help you stay ahead, here are the Top 6 Critical Actions every manufacturer must take:
1. Send Serialized EPCIS Files
EPCIS 1.2 files must be sent for every shipment, including drop-shipments. Use LSPedia’s OneScan to avoid rejected or quarantined products.
2. Fix EPCIS Failures Within 3 Days
Wholesalers expect timely resolutions. Weekly scorecards flag failures—delay puts orders at risk.
3. Continue Lot-Level ASN Through 2026
Many trading partners still require ASN (EDI 856). Pausing this could disrupt downstream deliveries.
4. Respond to VRS Requests Within 24 Hours
Saleable returns must be verified quickly. Delays can impact customer confidence and compliance ratings.
5. Review & Maintain Master Data
Ensure your GTIN, GLN, and packaging hierarchies are accurate. Mismatched data leads to EPCIS rejection.
6. Don’t Forget Drop-Shipments
EPCIS files are still required. If you don’t send them, you must provide receiving partners with portal access.
